The wet sheet body wrap is a technique that is much like the description says. There is more to this such as taking measure to keep you warm, and also your feet will be immersed in water. The effects of a fever can be mitigated with this strategy, and it is a bit different from what you may be used to doing. The folk wisdom states that this can be effective for excessive drinking plus other similar addictions. This is supposed to be effective with cleansing the body and restoring natural energy levels.

The sitz bath can be ideal for anal fissures, hemorrhoids and even menstrual discomforts accompanied by cramping. This type of bath is not difficult to find the ingredients for and you can buy it over the counter. What you need to do is soak your lower abdominal and buttocks in water, and you'll see how it's done when you see it. Never use cold water with this, and obviously you don't want to use very hot water, either.

Whether you should choose hot or cold is going to depend upon what kind of injury or ailment you are going to try to heal. If you suffer from respiratory problems, you should use a hot compress. For this type of compress you can use a hot water bottle. Before you can put it on your chest, you fill it and then wrap it in a towel. If you have bruises, sprains or suffer from gout, you can use a cold compress. For muscle injuries, you may want to alternate between hot and cold compresses. It is great for improving the healing process because it can help stimulate your circulation.

Aromatherapy has been used for a long time to help people calm down and to heal and when you use it in concert with hydrotherapy it can be even more powerful.

Each of the things we have talked about here can help increase the number of benefits you get from hydrotherapy. Using water to help yourself heal is nothing new. You can use it in the simplest possible ways, such as in a bath or shower, or you can go to a spa and experience a more high tech form of hydrotherapy such as a whirlpool. Either way, getting into the water is something you will undoubtedly find therapeutic and relaxing.
